Director Ridley Scott has quite a number of
projects on his slate, including The Martian , the
Blade Runner 2 and Prometheus 2 . The
filmmaker reveals in a new interview with
Entertainment Weekly that all of those projects
are written, although there may be some
scheduling issues.
Back in May, Alcon Entertainment officially
asked Harrison Ford to return as Deckard in the
Untitled Blade Runner Project, and the filmmaker
later confirmed that the actor will be involved.
"It's written and it's damn good. Of course it
involves Harrison , who is a survivor after all
these years - despite the accident (referring to
Ford's Star Wars injury). So yes, that will
happen."
The filmmaker claims that Blade Runner 2 may
go into production soon after his next project,
The Martian , which may not leave much time for
him to make Prometheus 2 , which is already
slated for release on March 4, 2016.
"That's the problem, I've got a lot of ducks in a
row. But they're all written."
When asked about The Martian , the filmmaker
revealed he has already completed storyboards,
with production to begin this November.
"It's a very good book. It's like Robinson
Crusoe-if you were marooned or shipwrecked,
how do you survive?"
The filmmaker revealed he will shoot The
Martian , which stars Matt Damon as an
astronaut who becomes stranded on Mars, in
Budapest.
"I think I'm going to shoot in Budapest. And
we'll probably shoot in Wadi Rum for Mars. I
like Wadi Rum-it's the best view I've ever seen
of what could be Mars."
Untitled Blade Runner Project comes to theaters
in 2014 . The film is directed by Ridley Scott .
