While this summer's live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot decided to stay focused on just one iconic villain, many speculate that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2
will go a lot bigger and bring in some other familiar faces from both
the comic book series and animated TV show. A new set of concept art
images reveal that this was actually being considered for the first
installment.
Conceptual artist Tsvetomir Georgiev, who previously worked on Green Lantern, has decided to share some of the work he did on Michael Bay's
reboot, which at one time was considering the inclusion of such fan
favorite characters as Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady. For the first time,
we get to see how these characters may have appeared on the big screen.
These
three super-villains did not appear in the film, but if this art is any
indication, fans may not have been disappointed with their rebooted
looks. It was rumored that Krang would actually be revealed in the first
movie as living inside Shredder's abdominal region, which goes against
the source material's origin story. That doesn't seem to have ever been
the case though, at least not how Tsvetomir Georgiev envisioned it.
The artist also gives us a slightly different take on Shredder, Splinter and the four turtle brothers. Check it out:
