'Justice League' Animated Miniseries Coming to Machinima in 2015

In the first programming collaboration since Warner Bros.' investment in Machinima earlier this year, the global many 2 many programming service for fanboys and videogamers announced today that it has greenlit the new animated shortform seriesJustice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, from Bruce W. Timm and Alan Burnett (both producers of the legendary Batman: The Animated Series). The digital series is based on Justice League: Gods and Monsters, an original animated film executive produced by Timm and co-produced by Burnett that will be released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment later in 2015. Chronicles will focus on alternate versions of DC Comics' iconic Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

Chad Gutstein, Machinma's CEO, had this to say about the series in a statement.

"Ever since we announced the Warner Bros. strategic investment, we have been looking for a new and exciting way to tap into the company's unmatched content. With Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles, Machinima will be the very first place fans can experience a new vision for DC Comics' beloved Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman characters. In addition, we have built a first-of-its-kind package for brands to engage with these characters to reach Machinima's elusive audience."

Chad Gutstein, Machinma's CEO. marks the first project from Warner Bros.' newly formed digital content production unit, headed up by Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series.

Sam Register had this to say in his statement.

"We couldn't be happier to be announcing our first new digital series today, and we're even more excited that it's a collaboration with such accomplished storytellers as Bruce W. Timm and Alan Burnett, who have been responsible for some of the most innovative and creative DC Universe projects. We can't wait for fans to have a chance to see the world they have created when Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles debuts on Machinima next year."

DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson had this to say in her statement.

"We are committed to delivering DC Entertainment's extensive line-up of world-class characters and stories to audiences across all platforms and formats. Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles is an exciting opportunity to bring alternate versions of DC Comics' iconic Justice League characters to Machinima, and we look forward to bringing this new animated shortform series to life with our partners across Warner Bros."

Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles explores a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know. The episodes are expected to debut on Machinima in spring 2015, weeks before the launch of the film. More details on each episode of Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles will be released in the upcoming months.

'Fantastic Four' Reboot Origins Story Revealed?

With production already wrapped on 20th Century Fox's superhero reboot The Fantastic Four, new plot details have been leaked that may reveal how the four main characters receive their incredible super powers. There will be SPOILERS that follow, so read on at your own risk.

Schmoes Know reports that Reed Richards (Miles Teller), Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan), Sue Storm (Kate Mara) and Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) receive their powers after an experiment goes terribly wrong, and creates a portal into another dimension. This is quite similar to how the Ultimate Fantastic Four characters attain their powers, after a teleporter experiment goes awry.

When the cast was announced back in February, many fans thought the reboot would be based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four comics, which feature a much younger group of heroes than the original version. However, Kate Mara revealed in July that the story isn't based on any of the Fantastic Four comic books, but these story details, if confirmed, indicate that the filmmakers are at least using the Ultimate Fantastic Four comics as a loose inspiration for the reboot.

Some fans have also been wondering how the brother-sister dynamic will work between the caucasian Kate Mara and the African-American Michael B. Jordan as Sue and Johnny Storm. Schmoes Know's source claims that Sue Storm is adopted by Johnny Storm's parents, which makes sense since we reported in May that African-American character actor Reg E. Cathey is playing Johnny and Sue's father.

The reboot is also said to be very character-driven, with a bulk of the story focusing on the relationships between the main characters and Victor Von Doom (Toby Kebbell).

What do you think about these new plot details? Are you more excited to see The Fantastic Four now? Chime in with your thoughts below.
The Fantastic Four comes to theaters August 7th, 2015 and stars Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson, Reg E. Cathey. The film is directed by Josh Trank.

'Star Wars 7' Chrome Trooper Revealed in New Concept Art!

Last month, we got our first look at the new Stormtrooper and Snowtrooper helmet designs for Star Wars: Episode VII, which is continuing to shoot in London. We have also heard rumors about new "chrome troopers" that will be appearing in this highly-anticipated sequel, although it was never clear how they fit into the story. Today, Indie Revolver has our first look at these Chrome Trooper helmets, along with details on who these imposing characters may be working for.

Check out the images below, then read on for more details:

While the first image shows the Chrome Trooper wearing a Jedi-like hood, these characters aren't expected to wear hoods in the movie. Unlike the classic Stormtrooper design, these Chrome Trooper masks do not have any vents on either side of the helmet, although they are clearly inspired by the original Stormtroopers. It isn't known if any of these masks will actually be removed during the film, but they do feature the "frown" similar to the Stormtroopers.

It has been assumed that the Chrome Troopers will have some sort of ties to the Imperial forces, but Indie Revolver's source reveals that these characters are actually part of a private security force for Adam Driver's character. The actor's character still hasn't been confirmed yet, with new rumors surfacing that he is playing a "wealthy aristocrat with an interest in Sith artifacts."

The site also speculates that artist Doug Chaing, the lead concept artist on the Star Wars prequel trilogy, created the illustrations shown above. It's worth noting that the Chrome Trooper helmet's aesthetics somewhat mirror the designs of the Naboo ships seen in the prequels, which could hint that Adam Driver's character hails from Naboo, the home planet of Natalie Portman's Padme Amidala in the prequels.
Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams

Will 'Avengers 3' Be a Two-Part Movie?

A new rumor claims that The Avengers 3 is going to do what quite a few franchise sequels have pulled in the recent past. It will be split into a two-part movie.

This is a trend that started with the Twilight Saga, as the final book in the series was split into The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2Harry Potter followed suit with The Deathly Hallows, and it has continued through such franchises as The Hobbit, originally planned as a two film prequel but turned into a three part epic, and Divergent. Anything to squeeze a little extra money out of a franchise.

Splitting The Avengers 3 into two parts is an interesting conceit, since its not based on a novel series, though it could be based on an expansive, existing storyline in the comics. And a good cliffhanger never hurt ticket sales. Daily Marvelite went out of their way to confirm that this rumor has some truth to it. According to their sources at Marvel Studios, the team's impending fight with Thanos will be so epic and complicated, it will not just require, but demands, two movies.

When Marvel announced the Untitled Marvel Project 2019 for May 3rd, many believed it was the date being set for The Avengers 3, which would have it arriving four years after Avengers: Age of Ultron. Kevin Feige later hinted that the third installment is actually one of the untitled 2018 releases. So the plan, according to this new report, is to have The Avengers 3 open May 2018 followed by The Avengers 4 in May 2019.

It was not confirmed by the source at Marvel if The Avengers 3 is going to actually be a two-part movie with a cliffhanger, or if The Avengers 3 and The Avengers 4 are just standalone adventures with their own contained stories.

Two movies makes sense if the sequels are also planning to bring Guardians of the Galaxy into this storyline, which has often been rumored. Vin Diesel recently said this about the possibility:

"[We had] A great meeting. It was even talking about something so big I can't even talk about because it's like the merging of brands in a way, which I won't get into. That was something way, way, way, way, way down the road."

While nothing is confirmed by Marvel or Disney, many believe that Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel's The Avengers will be coming together in The Avengers 3whether its a two-parter or not. And that it will end the first three phases of the Marvel cinematic universe.
The Avengers 3 comes to theaters in 2019 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson.
